Chapel
Chamberlain-Hunt’s chapel worship and morning catechism and Scripture instruction are integral to life at the Academy. These events bring the entire
Chamberlain-Hunt family—Cadets, faculty, staff and administration—together in the presence of God on a daily basis to focus our attention on Him.
On Wednesday mornings everyone assembles at First Presbyterian Church for “pedagogical” worship. The Cadets process into the sanctuary to the beat of the
drum corps and sit by company. Chamberlain-Hunt’s Chaplain, MAJ Michael Herrin, is teaching through the weekly Scripture memorization passages this year,
and the Cadets (many for their first time) are being exposed to Psalm-singing, the corporate reading of God’s Law, and recitations of the Apostles’ Creed
and Nicene Creed. The time has drawn the cadre and Cadets together, and is the focal point for each week.
During chapel worship, a small group of cadre
meets separately to pray for God’s blessing on the service and the Cadets. On other days, everyone meets in the dining hall before First Period for less
formal instruction on the week’s Scripture and catechism memory selections. click here for the Bible verses and catechism material
These practices remind us that we depend on God and live in His presence, embodying our motto: Knowledge and Wisdom in Submission to
God.
